international online dating reviews - Updating my fireplace

I purchased disposable foam & bristle brushes and simply painted thin layers over the existing brown/brass fireplace surround.I found that using the foam brush was the easiest to apply. The directions said that it would be dry to the touch in a 4-6 hours but it was still tacky so I just let it dry for a full 24 hours before applying a 2nd coat.Items needed: Rust-oleum high heat enamel and a foam brush.

It is a 15 minute project to paint the fireplace brass trim ….. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot carry the High Heat Rustoleum paint. Then, tape newspaper all around being sure to have it on the hearth area especially as spray paint “falls”.

If you still have this brass on the front of your fireplace, well our friendship is in serious trouble. You’ll need to ask someone smarter than I for this project. Diamond Vogel 1.5 inch is my favorite painter’s tape. 3rd, tape off or remove any handles you don’t want sprayed. Two thin coats of the spray paint will more than cover the fireplace brass.

I adore this wood-clad fireplace from The Lettered Cottage. I’m trying to figure out if I should use my other favorite – Amazing Gray – below the mantel so that there is some contrast.

The Yellow Cape Cod took a plain builder’s grade fireplace and made it a show stopper! I would eventually like to add some wood to the fireplace wall to give it a bit more oomph, but I’m just working on a live-able, temporary plan.

Giving our living room gas fireplace a total makeover has been in the plans for a while – it’s in great shape and we love the size of it and the design of the mantel but the colors were pretty boring and not as bright and stylish as I knew it could be.
